What Should I Bring In?

What to Provide Our Attorneys When Filing for Bankruptcy in Kentucky

In order to clearly gauge your financial situation, and make a plan with you, we will need a few items. We will need to see what you own, what income you make, and what debts you have—secured, such as a mortgage or car loan, or unsecured, such as credit card debt.

Once we understand your situation and explain your options, you can decide what you wish to do. If you decide on filing for bankruptcy, we need to demonstrate that you are eligible, and complete some paperwork for the bankruptcy court.

On your first meeting with us, it would be helpful if you brought:

  • Paystubs from the past six months
  • All bank statements
  • A recorded copy of the deed to your home
  • A recorded copy of your mortgage
  • Correspondence you have received from creditors, including threats of legal action, or garnishment

If these are unavailable, our bankruptcy lawyers may be able to obtain them, or instruct you how to get them.

Depending on your circumstances, additional documents may be helpful. Are you paying child support? Do you owe back taxes? Please contact our office to arrange a meeting with our bankruptcy attorneys.

Our job is to make your life easier, not harder. If you have been under financial stress, or even harassment from creditors, retaining our firm will immediately stop these problems and give you confidence in your future. Although filing for bankruptcy is more complicated than it once was, it may still provide you with a solution and a new beginning.

Bankruptcy is here to help you, and so are we.

We are a debt relief agency. We help people file for bankruptcy relief under the Bankruptcy Code.
